and if you are lucky there will be two!

A little thank you sewing

One more week of the school term to go.....
One more week of playgroup fun.....

One more week and then I get to say thanks for all your hard work in making the best team ever...

A time of change

I am feeling a little lost in the changing times of our lives. The last couple of weeks have been pretty intense. Emotional.

We are a week away from the biggest change for our family. Although we are excited about what lies ahead there is a little in-trepidation going forward....

But mixed in with all of that, we celebrated my gorgeous husbands special birthday.....a little romantic getaway in the city and then a surprise lunch  with a couple of our favourite people...not too much fuss but just enough to make it special....

We have also spent our last official paid "rostered day off" together. I have loved these days that have happened every second Monday for the last 19 years, especially the last 5 years that have been spent child free.......It was a beautiful winters day......lunch and....

a beach walk.......

Tomorrow is also our 27th wedding anniversary.......Wow so much to be thankful for....

Life is great....just becoming different.....
and just when we thought we had all the change under way......out of the blue my working week life changes..... a change in responsibilities....less time required...more time at home....more time with my man who will also be home.....hey maybe it is not sounding all that bad after all....

Change is emotionally draining...unknown adventures are hard on the sleep....

But life is great....we are blessed and whatever the next bit has in store for us we will embrace and run with everything that comes our way....

Oh and what better way to tackle change head on......book a family holiday...woohoo

I made it....Pie / Hotpot Carrier

It has been so long since I have even attempted to be creative.....
but a gift was needed for a friend and I knew exactly what it should be.....
So I dived into the stash, dusted off the sewing machine.....hunted for a tutorial and sent the husband off to the hardware store.

I have a casserole dish carrier that my mum made when I was first married...it is different to this one but I have used mine over and over again..delivering hot meals or even scones to friends or someone in need of a meal.....

I know my friend will use this to be equally as generous too.....

I think she really loved it.....but best of all...I made something...and stash busted at the same time.

Thankful list

* Winter has been so kind to us ...sharing the most glorious of weather

* The most perfect husband ...who wants the very best for me.

* Hitting the confirm button on a family holiday that we don't have to wait too long for

* Friends who live in lovely places to holiday with

* New songs played on the radio that deliver a message for the moment

* Special birthdays that call for surprises and spontaneity

* A teen who is so responsible...and trusting

* Cuppa days with my sisters

* Having little people stay with us  over the weekend

* Grandpas that love to watch grandsons play soccer

* Sharing  birthday's with other cousins

* Knowing that change forced upon us will look brighter down the track when the bigger picture is revealed

* The feeling of empty cupboards and full bins

* The cheering from the side of friends and family when you need it the most

#1126 Creating a gift from the abundance on my shelves...after such a dry spell

It has been too long since I added to my thankful list...I have let the heaviness of life get in the way....Just when I should have been "upping the anti" on counting my blessings I dropped the ball.
The whole reason to count my thankfuls is to remind myself of all that I have in abundance and shift my eyes from the things that seek to rob me of Joy.....
I know perspective will come with time....until then I must just keep making these lists.

Just do it....

I am serious about making our family footprint lighter....well I am starting with me and hope that it catches on the the rest ...

After the fun we had last weekend with both Meg and my little nieces trying on my wedding dress and a couple of other dresses from the 80's...it was time to make peace with them and then move them on.....

So on Friday...off I went to the local costume hire store.....and donated them to add to their lovely collection of 80's memorabilia....I did leave feeling lighter and had the loveliest conversation with the store owner....it fulfilled it's purpose and now 27 years later it can find a new lease on life.

From there it was off to the op shop to leave a "boot load" of goodies collected from around our home....

and to finish of my mission I left a huge pile of books at my local library for them to either  shelve or sell for gold coin donations.

My sisters popped in for a cuppa on Friday morning and wondered if I was making a dent.....yes if you look in cupboards and the tops of wardrobes......slowly but surely....I have intentions and I am persisting at making them good ones that make a difference.

Weekly Snippets

Monday was the end of a long weekend here....we headed inland to a nearby dam... Love that we are still able to hang out together...

Remembering the days when there was so much more water flowing...

The little guy wasn't too happy about pics...moments before had quite the "stack" that left him suffering....

Why does everyone find it funny that I might be a little out of breath after a step climb....must do something about that!

The rest of the working week went by in a rush...so much going on ...decisions to be made, things to work out, uncertainty in abundance....that's why it is good to have a weekend with three extra little people in the house....

Especially when the decluttering has ramped up...
The girls helped me make peace with my wedding dress as I let it go....

How amazingly confronting seeing my daughter standing there in it....and an almost perfect fit....but we both know she won't wear it one day so we are all good about it and my wardrobe space has just increased hugely..

It was lovely having the nieces and nephew hang out for the weekend...the girls just loved spending time with their big girl cousin....even helped her part with a bunch of stuff clogging up her drawers...( hope my sister is good with all the goodies they took home)

Weekends come and go so fast...heading into another week....wondering what this one will have in store for each of us...
