A moment to breathe and celebrate
33 years with this guy.....28 years married this last weekend was worth taking a couple of days out and hanging together.
So ...we did. Hang out, enjoy the nothing that was for a couple of days.
It was cold and it just reminded us of the cold wet day we said those words of promise to each other... So much has come our way to make us who we are today.....
so glad I have had this guy to do it all with.

Thankful List- 10th birthday list
* The pure joy on the face of a boy who now loves being 10
* A class birthday hat to wear all day at school
* Impromptu afternoon tea with cousins
* Sneaky surprises
* The reaction to a big boy present
* Birthday phone calls to answer and e-cards to open
* Indulging the birthday boy in his choice of dinner....and the power that they love that comes with the choice.
* Brand new released movies in time for a birthday outing
* The happiness with "mum packed treats" to take to the movie
* Cheap movie tickets that allowed us to take all his mates
* The fun of a "nerf gun" war that invaded a fair bit of our street
* The simplest of cakes, perfect for an ice cream lover.
* Not being too teary that our baby is now 10
#1048 A little relieved that birthday season is over for our three....for another year.

December 12 {Thankful #12}
{ Blog 25 days of being Thankful..... this as a way of staying focused on the good , happy and pleasing moments....
it's a way of acknowledging all that we take for granted, all that we sometimes overlook as we let busyness take over.}Today I am thankful for.......
So many things .....
A Young lady that graduated from Year 7 today......
I was slightly emotional as we saw the students enter and take their place.......
Wow ...where has all the time gone.....
Meg has done us proud with her work ethic and friends she has chosen along the way......
After the formalities it was home to prepare for the dinner /dance in the evening.....
nails, hair, dresses a little makeup......
They all looked stunning and oh were they excited!
They danced the evening away ....
and created some lasting memories to tuck away of friends ,teachers and fun times.....
and we did it all without too many dramas and melt downs......
Funny hearing them say how much their "high heels" were making their feet hurt after all that dancing....
I am also very thankful for......
A new nephew born in amongst the midst of all the glamour and ceremonies.......
We are so pleased to welcome...
Flynn Thomas Owens into our family
My baby sister did an awesome job!

Baby number five for her...the other 4 babies were with us for the short wait.
And now this is one tired mumma and auntie who needs to say goodnight. xxx

The Best
After a very busy first half of the weekend ( attending a kids worker conference) it was so special to spend Sunday together with family and good food.....
We are so blessed to be able to church every weekend with three generations of our family.
Our children don't realise how special it is so be involved doing church with their grandparents.
This Sunday we had the added joy of celebrating the matriarch {referred to in the nicest possible way}
She is such special lady and although she is my Mother in Law...next to my own mum she is the next best thing.
We celebrated with some lovely brought in lunch and the most divine chocolate profiterole cake made by my sister in law.......
Back to finish off the weekend with an awesome evening service and we were exhausted charged for another week ahead.

Wedding Colour
This would have to have been one of the most colourful weddings we have been to....
1968 theme encouraged the hippie in most, the bride arriving in the Kombie....
So I felt that I was certainly colourful enough to mix it with the best.

Tea in the Highest
After a crazy week..with a lot of emotion wrapped up in it...it was just a lovely Sunday to finish the week.
An inspiring time at church this morning and again tonight (my brother in law is an awesome motivator and public speaker). Sandwiched in the middle was the most loveliest of afternoon high tea's in the city.
Both my sister and I were invited to celebrate a dear friends 50th birthday at the Cee Restaurant. What a fantastic view of our city...33 stories high and get this REVOLVING!
It took 1 1/2 hours to do a complete rotation. The day was certainly the perfect day for sitting and taking in all the sights below.
I am thankful for a great church community ,family and friends to share precious moments with.

Rewarded
Our "guy" was awarded a Merit Certificate yesterday at school for ...."increased confidence in ALL areas....doing it with a smile and great enthusiasm"
Did we make the right decision to change schools at the start of the year?
I think it was OK!!!!!!!
He went to a birthday party of a classmate today and it was really heartening to see the amount of fun he had with these "new" friends.

For My Mum

(photos taken from originals and slides)
She was a beautiful person, who loved people, was kind, brought the best and the worst out of me, wanted the very best for me,encouraged me and left me too early.
My father-in-law returned a letter that was sent to them from my mum and before he even said what it was I knew her handwriting straight away....this letter was written to thank them for attending her surprise 50th birthday.....
4 years before we said goodbye.
Happy memories and Happy birthday to her!

Pizza making for dinner....
and getting to snuggle under blankets to watch a family favourite....
were how we chose to mark the occasion.
Now the plan for the next two weeks is to go a little slower and not leave the house before the sun has warmed things up....(well it's good to have a plan)

22 Years
I hardly recognise these two .....
so young and naive about the road ahead...
But 22 years today we have travelled a road that hasn't always been straight, has never had boring scenery and it has never had signs along the way to indicate speed, direction, hazards, road blocks or rest points.
Maybe if it had we would never have begun such a journey at the tender ages of 20 and 23....but we did and I could never have picked a more perfect for me person to have traveled the road with.
Well my soul mate, I am looking forward to the rest of the journey even if there is little or no signage ahead.
Happy Anniversary.
edited...a beautiful bunch of roses just appeared on my doorstep xxxx

Mum's Day
My Day began with a lovely breakfast (at the table as per my request- so much easier to enjoy than under my chin in bed!)
Off to church together then home to a pre-prepared lunch.
These guys are why I get to celebrate Mother's Day...
