Snapshots of the last month

So I had a gentle prod today from a friend who dropped a message and mentioned I hadn't been here in a while. Then Meg also asked what had happened.
I could blame the crazy busy schedule I am trying to keep but I think the blame  really lies with  my love for Instagram!!!

So here I am and this is where we have been for the last few weeks.....

Our dancing girl has had some huge news...she secured a spot to further her dance studies in a great company beginning in January......IN MELBOURNE!!!!!!
Yes we are suddenly confronted with the reality of having encouraged her to reach for her dream and grab it with two hands. She is being given an awesome opportunity to continue her journey of becoming a dancer following her dreams.

We are yet to work out the finer details but just know that it is right and therefore will all be Ok even if her parents are not.

We had fathers day in there and loved celebrating all that my dad is to us girls and our families....

We have a fair share of nasty bugs...Meg at the start of the term and now Fraser to end the term...sick for going on 3 weeks...enough is enough.
I have just keep mine simmering under control but also feel totally over the underlining bugs .

I have been blessed with a gorgeous husband who is very good at finding the little ways to show he cares.....we are seeing a small sign that Spring is coming...it has been such a long cold Winter.

I have been giving some thought to how I can make a difference in my community....enlisting the help and ideas of my sisters who are creative individuals....

We have been on the receiving end of fresh produce straight from my sisters garden.....

Teddy needed loving attention as he was on high demand while there has been sickness around....

Celebrating the "lasts" for a our teen....Dux for both her dance subjects was a nice way to end her high school years.....last day tomorrow....I cant quite get my head around her being in this space and time...

An event we have been talking about for years and years finally happened......

And lets just say our teen was devastated that it had come to this.....She is 17 and he is 11!!!!

The regular soccer season has come to an end and now to participate in the regional country week team during the holidays.....
at least Saturdays will be ours again...

We have been chipping away at the last of the driving hours...the goal is to have them done before 19th December...we have 15 hours to go...phew.....

I have worked full time this term  between 4 different schools.....loving it ....exhausted....challenged.....and blessed by all those I am meeting along the way....especially the sweet year two girl who made me a chocolate cupcake for Monday morning.

Discovering that our chickens really do think they are part of the family......love their generous egg giving acts but sorry it's outside you must stay....

Really needing that sun to do it's thing quicker..... we are all feeling ready for the warmth...

just so that we can get prepared for the crazy  trip of a lifetime we have just locked in that may or may not include a ridiculously freezing and hopefully white Christmas.

and just because we are so proud......and I am trying to savor these days that will change dramatically in a few short months.....

So there you have it...our life in a snapshot.....looking forward to some slower days over the  next couple of weeks of school holidays.... xxx
Are you on Instagram? If so let me know so we can say HI!

Snapshots of our week

There was......

Seeking quiet at my desk during another very busy work week...

An opportunity to share my love of rhubarb with a Year 3 class... Not one of them had tasted it before...my legacy to them is that now they have...

Sneaky shots of my gorgeous husband.....such a creative being finding his way in this crazy world...

A co-ordinated day off together to hit a long list of things that needed doing....most importantly hitting the travel agent for ideas on our "Winter Christmas" plan...

Some hard lessons in not eating your dinner up with everyone else....no more late afternoon  snacks for this guy.....

There was warm Milo and "Tim Tams" to fend off the wet and dreary day at school....

Putting to good use the generous amount of eggs we have....and the extra rhubarb that I cooked....

Then there was soccer.....Saturday and Sunday this weekend....
Wet ....

Then Sunny......

We needed a stand in coach for the Sunday morning match.......Coach Bron and her handsome lines umpire........

Couldn't do that every week...too stressful in those games we could have won but ended in a draw.....

And that brings us to the start of another week....

Hope you have a great one. xxx

Snapshots of our week

* A road trip south with my sister started the week....we went to visit a friend and enjoyed taking in the sights of her little country town...

* The gardens where we had morning tea were beautiful in all their winter glory.....

* Loving when I notice my kids have actually come when they tackle a job that once would have been mine.....

* I have been working full time in the relief teaching role....this week I spent two days in a year one class that tested me greatly. Lets just say I was ready for bed by 7.00pm both those nights....

* There was bad wacky hair day too this week.....blue hairspray and a piggy tail was about my creativity this time round. ...

* An impromptu opportunity to have a coffee and cake  date with my hubby....actually killing time while waiting for one of the kids events to be over. We did do a little research and dreaming about pulling off a White Christmas...hmmm call us crazy!

* Soccer season only has a few more games to go....it has been a stressful season this year...not too many wins which can be a little demoralizing.....but at least the "spring like sun" was shining for us this weekend....

* Family celebrations for nieces birthdays...always a great time to come together as a family to eat , tell tales and catch up on all our busy days....

* We are all feeling a little "harried" these days and so I loved snapping this pic of my crew throwing hoops just before dinner....

Have a great week....and here's to being a little less "harried" xxxx

Snapshots of our week

A few hours were spent at IKEA last weekend. Meg's friend had her 17th birthday there. A scavenger hunt followed by lunch in the cafe! They had a heap of fun finding and solving tasks set by the birthday girl. What was I to do but spend the few hours leisurely wandering and making decisions on what needed to come home with us.

The winners were two large mirrors. One for Meg's room and one for our lounge room. Both of which have now made themselves very at home.

My beanie from CarriesBeanies4BrainCancer arrived in the mail. Just in time for the cold snap that we have been having here. I love it and I know my big girl would have loved it too.

I have had a little time to read ... found this little book at a community bookshelf while waiting for my hot chocolate  down south during the school holidays. When I saw this book I remembered Fraser talking about having read it at school....it was an interesting short read.

We have had family pizza night...the best kind of pizza.

Being thankful for the golden eggs that our chicks give us daily.  Able to make last minute unplanned dinners of Frittata as a result.

Making the most of soccer training waiting ...reading in the car.

Our couple of oil diffusers are going overtime as we have sickness in the house and with working full time in classrooms filled with sick little ones we are doing all we can to ward of the germs and stop the spread.

Olympic fever is spreading. My class I relieved in the last two days was representing "Romania" in the Olympic school parade.
It has been a hectic two weeks of working full time and the weekends just seem to go so fast. It is a busy one this weekend but hopefully not before I get a little sneaky sleep in...or maybe that soccer game is an early one...doh!!!!

I have dabbled a little further than I normally would this week with social media. I have been playing around with Instagram...... reconnecting with some old friends and being a little instant in my sharing.....I am hoping it will actually inspire me to take those photos amongst the crazy days and that will translate to showing up here a little more.

Have a great weekend my friends

Days gone by....

Why is it that the days come and go so fast...something that was present or coming is gone and in the past so fast?

It was just school holidays two weeks ago......something that we look forward to greatly in this house......and now...
they are two weeks ago.
We are swallowed back up into the school/work routine and all the things that also claw at our time outside of those staples.

I did head away with a sister ,nephews and  my boy , a friend and her boy for a couple of days....my boy stayed on for the week with his cousins as I had some pressing business to attend too

The week beside the seaside began cold........and just got colder and colder.....
My sister is a trooper and by then my other sister had joined her and they toughed out the winter break with 8 kids between them.

But my couple of days was filled with cold but also relaxing hangout time with girl friends...eating chocolate, cheese and playing board games while the crazy kids toyed with the ocean and other land fun.

Stuff memories are made from...fun that become memories all too fast.
