Things I am Loving

This week.......

 

 

 

 

Loving...Our elf antics and the fun they still have finding him each morning.

Loving...The gift that Fraser bought home from his Teacher...never have enough books.

Loving...Recycling last year's Christmas cards into gift tags for this years presents.

Loving...That it was my husband at the cricket and not me during our heat wave.

Loving...The softie the teen made in textiles at school.

Loving...That we have still received Christmas greetings via snail mail...which reminds me.... to get on and write our yearly family letter to post.

Loving....This song......Meg danced so , so beautifully to it this week....taking out the top prize for her contemporary solo.(a tear may have been shed by her parents)

Things I am Loving

This week it was all about Christmas parties......

Bubbles... 

Usually forbidden foods....

all things that glitter....

A face painter to add some cheer

playgroups are finished for the year...and we finished with a bang 

3 playgroups + 3 Days = 250 excited bodies....big and small 

 

and some beautiful gifts to show their appreciation...although the pleasure was all mine.....

 

Then today....the list was written and left for mum to attend to.....

Dance productions to be ready for....

Pleased to report I attended well to each of the requirements..... 

 

Then there is the train that has spent most of the week off the rails......

 The elf that has been providing some smiles around the house.....

 The bees that are merrily making a hive in the now abandoned cubby house....

and to end the week that was.....the most beautiful of sunsets......

Tis really the season......let the festivities continue...

Weekend Snippets

 

 

 

 

 

 

* You know it is going to be a good weekend when you can enjoy three "double yolkers" from the chicks.

*the suitcases were flung open and the decorating began

*the reading of a "new to us" book was also begun....pleased to report everyone listened attentively as mumma read.

* the stockings were hung...all five of them.

*the bunting heralded that it was now officially the Christmas season

*even the Christmas train makes it's appearance

* and look who happened on our doorstep again this year......oh what will he get up to this year....

Well December promised to come.....and come it has......bring on all that it has in store I say.

Things I am Loving...

This week I am loving.....

*Christmas of course......so lucky to have been able to  celebrate Christmas with all my family spread over two days of fun.....

* The last couple of days with our elf...although I was a little relived that he has now gone until next year...the creativity needed at night was getting to me!!!

* As much as I loved the Christmas celebrations I have enjoyed packing away all the "Christmas stuff" today...reclaiming back the space.

*I love being able to turn last year's Christmas cards into next year's gift tags

*Turning our attention to our outside entertaining area now the weather is super charged and the nights are so lovely.

*Loving that my hubbie has been super creative and busy with the new wok and frypan we received for presents.....yummy dinners on our table.

*Love this time of the year to indulge in a lot of reading time....finished book number 23 for the year.

Hope you are loving the days that lie between Christmas and New Year...they have their own special feel about them.

Sunday Snippets

This weekend.....

Twas the Sunday before Christmas....

 A church service to keep us focused on the reason for the season.... 

A crafty space that is tidy and a trusty machine has been put to rest for a few days....

A newly renovated studio that is that close to being finished....

The presents all gathered around the tree....

The reminders around our home that tell us it is nearly here.....

And an elf escapade that would have had our Taylor in fits of laughter....

In fact she would have loved every minute of our elf adventures.....

I could almost  hear her each morning saying  " oh muuuum"  

Unfortunately with the time to slow down also comes the space to ponder, shed a tear,and remember  those who we aren't able to share these joyous times with .

(Sometimes it is easier to stay busy xxxx)  

It's nearly here...

Unlike our elf....we will be having more than jelly for Christmas lunch.....the weather is forcasted for 39 degrees and that is hot.

So no hot lunch  for us in this household.

The seafood has been purchased and the hams and chickens will be too....

Salads galore with plenty of cool drinks on the side.

The pavlova will be made along with a plethora of sweet treats...

Bon Bons with jokes and silly paper hats too.

Glad we have some organised ones in the family who have given the instructions as what to bring....

It's nearly here and that we couldn't be more pleased about...

Another gift finished today and wrapped under the tree...

just two wee ones left and then we beginning all the unwrapping.....

Things I am loving - Chritmas edition.

This week I am loving......

Finally a slow day at home...nowhere to go in a hurry...chance to clean those floors and hang the washing....

Time to make some gingerbread men with the kids...using this recipe 

Then time to drop off a couple to the neighbours....

Had the pleasure and joy of being able to drop off some Christmas food hampers to some families in our community .....

Time to even sit and watch a whole movie with the family tonight...

I love that it is Friday and we are all home now together for at least a week.....

Some Christmas eve practice is already happening in the house...
