December 13 {Thankful #13}

{ Blog 25 days of being Thankful..... this as a way of staying focused on the good , happy and pleasing moments....

it's a way of acknowledging all that we take for granted, all that we sometimes overlook as we let busyness take over.}

Today I am thankful for......

• The eagerness of the little guy to get his Christmas cards done......I have been asking him for the last couple of weeks and he wasn't so keen.....until today!

I don't know why I am amazed by it but he was able to independently sit and write them all out....I just wrote out the names as he told me and then away he went.....

Amazing what can be done and ever so quickly once it became his idea.....

I just need to finish my Christmas letter tomorrow and print off this  year's photo and mine can almost be in the post too!

• We sneaked in another visit  too ...so cousins could meet cousin......

I found this photo on the camera....

I can only guess she was getting sentimental about the shoes she has worn to death and will be parting with after tomorrow!!!!

Teacher gifts are all done and ready for the last day of school tomorrow...phew  just in time!

Today I am thankful for.......

So many things .....

A Young lady that graduated from Year 7 today...... 

I was slightly emotional as  we saw the students enter and take their place.......

Wow ...where has all the time gone.....

Meg has done us proud with her work ethic and friends she has chosen along the way......

After the formalities it was home to prepare for the dinner /dance in the evening.....

nails, hair, dresses a little makeup......

They all looked stunning and oh were they excited!

They danced the evening away ....

and created some lasting memories to tuck away  of friends ,teachers and fun times.....

and we did it all without too many dramas and melt downs......

Funny hearing them say how much their "high heels" were making their feet hurt after all that dancing....

I am also very thankful for......

A new nephew born in amongst the midst of all the glamour and ceremonies.......

We are so pleased to welcome...

Flynn Thomas Owens into our family 

My baby sister did an awesome job! 

Baby number five for her...the other 4 babies were with us for the short wait.

And now this is one tired mumma and auntie who needs to say goodnight. xxx

Newborn goodness

This little guy is the cutest and most beautiful latest addition to our extended family....

We were all so taken with him and at how perfect and tiny he is.....

My heart really did melt when I saw MY baby holding the new baby.....

We are so looking forward to getting to now this new cousin /nephew that has arrived in the family....

No Pretty dresses needed here...

I was just busy finishing off this little pinafore dress when the call came......

It is a BOY....No.16 is indeed a boy.......

I guess that means this cute little reversible number will be tucked away for another day.....

but we are all very excited that  "the boy " has arrived safely.

Waiting....

This morning I enjoyed a beautiful morning with my sister and sister in law.... 

we enjoyed delicious scones,jam and cream and tea.....

we enjoyed a lovely setting....

we chatted, sipped and enjoyed each others company....

a snippet of time before all things change  in one of our little worlds......

now to wait for the arrival of niece or nephew No. 16 any day now......

We are all so excited to welcome this new little person into the bigger family.

Something Cute {Blogtoberfest 9}

I wanted to show you a really cute idea that my Sister-in-Law popped in the guests "goodie bag" yesterday.....{I know, she was the guest of honor and she gave us gifts!}

 She made this really cute tiny paper pieced  apron......

and tucked in the pocket of the apron was a little parcel with a tag-

{Baby Bassett is brewing}

and a tea bag tucked inside that little envelope.

I love having such clever and creative sisters and sister in laws!

{not sure where the original idea came from sorry!}

OOOH Baby {Blogtoberfest 8}

It was my Sister- in - Laws baby shower today.....

This is her first bub and so a baby shower was the order of the day.....

Together with my sister and Mum-in-Law we gathered a few of her friends.....

and had a very enjoyable morning......

We each had cooked up a storm...and my talented sister did a fabulous job of the decorations.....

My Mum-in-law sourced the most Divine treats in her usual fashion......

I added my "mis-matched" Vintage tea cups to the party.....

and the mum-to-be even packaged up the cutest gifts  for all the guests.....

Did I mention that we had so much food?

Oh and we played some pretty funny games , which included a whole bunch of these........

It feels so long ago that I had my last baby..{well 6 1/2  years is a long time} so

it is very exciting to think that in about 4 weeks we will have a new baby in the family .....

a baby that will be in high demands for cuddles!

 

Pitter Patter

We will have the pitter patter of two sets of little feet by the end of the year in our extended family......

So very exciting...

Now I am pretty sure we will not be told what the colour of those little feet will be so I must get to work soon.

I have already a blue variety of quilt done and waiting for the perfect recipient...I will now need to have on hand a pink variety and just in case  they are both the same will have to get to work on double of both!

 

 

Just the  labour of love this non-quilter is up for!

edited: I should have pointed out that the babies are coming from two different siblings....although the thought of twins would be fun!
