The Dance of the Spider

It is hard to imagine that anything so CUTE and FURRY could make us humans dance around in circles to it's own tune.......
Well not in this household ...we danced while it scurried ...
and tiptoed all around...

until it managed to be freed into the garden...

much to all our relief!

Swim anyone?

Yet another warm day and after running errands, haircuts in readiness for school, picking up school uniforms and collecting Derek from work ...we decided we would all head to the local pool while Derek completed his swim training.

As I have gotten older I am becoming less and less of a fan of the public pool..but so much fun can be had I just put aside my phobias just this once.

aaahhh it's done!

Cheers to my Darling for all his hard work in building this.......
But oh dear what to put on it? All the things we had here before just don't seem to look right..

They always do say that one thing leads to another....and another ...and another.

How DO YOU eat a mango?

In our house mango eating has it's own ritual...I was watching my family go through the process today at lunch and asked Derek where he learnt such a thing...he said he didn't know it was just what he did, but I reckon if I did a family survey I would find a whole line of mango eaters doing the same ..
The kids just love mangoes as much as their dad and they are quite content to sit and watch the process which finally leads them to their own slices of "delish"
Me I am more than happy just to sit and watch the whole ritual play out!

A hunting we will go.

A day with my sister is never a walk in the park....so when we decided to spend the day together the thought of "treasure hunting" was tossed around.
"Leave it to me" she said.." See you early in the morning"..
We spent the day together with five kids between us traveling quite some distance exploring hidden treasures and places of interest all along the way.
Much fun was had, much food was consumed and a total of 14 targets were hit...

Thrombolites -"Living Rocks" -spectacular
!
A disused (1923) Lime Kiln
Checking out the treasure stash..

Checking out historical information about our ancestors
The Clifton Family who settled this very area.

On the lookout for some dolphins.

Thanks Sis, great to spend time together doing fun things.

Granny Who?

I have reacquainted myself with the granny square...over here are some great step by step lessons for learning to crochet if that takes your fancy.....I was even seen "granny squaring" it at the After Hours GP Clinic the other night as we waited for Derek to see the DR.

Heat Wave

We are in the middle of a heat wave....after a few days of heat the energy levels just deplete in our house.
We have pretty much downed tools and are riding out the next few days as cool as possible.
The kids were lucky enough to be taken by friends to see this movie...the reviews were high.

Finishing off

I have finished off the rest of Sam's birthday letters today so he will have a complete alphabet.
For my birthday I used gifted money to purchase a couple of books and one of them arrived today, another lovely book to keep the creative process going.
We are in the middle of a heat wave here and I found by the time the kids went to bed, the past couple of "working on the deck" days have caught up on both of us...looking for something to sit and do without having to think to long and hard about...I have picked up something that has been on my knitting needles.
Just the thing to sit and chill with.....chill? well in the air conditioner with.

This Guy....

This guy has worked like a Trojan....we have all had a good go at keeping up with him but once he sets his mind to it there is no stopping him.
We have the most fabulous looking deck taking shape and I am so proud of him for taking on the task and tackling it so well.

Not too much more to go now!

Birthday Letters

Fraser and I headed out for a short time this morning to celebrate Sam's 4th birthday.
They had a great time playing in the park and sharing birthday cake.

I managed to sew up these for Sam's Present....they were fun to do but I have to admit I wanted to finish the whole alphabet for him but didn't quite get there so I have promised him i would have them done real soon.
I grabbed the idea from here and I plan on a set for our house so I can also use them with my Alphabet Theme in playgroup.

We're Back!

We took 24 hrs out to have some fun and escape the dirt and dust at home....

We didn't go far but boy we had fun.....swimming, enjoying the view from the balcony, enjoying the view from the spa, huge breakfast, walking heaps and being together.
A great way to spend a very quick time out break.
