Such turmoil..

The world is in such turmoil....

We watch it, hear about it, are bombarded sometimes with too much detail.....it all seems too heavy...

The heartache of family's losing loved ones...some at the hands of others some from natural forces....
The enormity of the events of the past week are hard to comprehend

Even closer to home, the heaviness of the jobs lost in our community...families wondering what they are going to do....the uncertainty of whats around the corner...that corner being tomorrow.

It all weighs heavy....the despair that is filling our minds and hearts

I am praying....My God will not abandon those who cry out.....

Reach out and see if your neighbour is Ok.....

We are trusting, we are praying.

The end is near...

We were lucky here in our state to score a long weekend....

So today we had something that needed to be achieved before it couldn't be done ....

You see...my husband has worked at the same place of employment for 20 years...and in a couple of months he will be made redundant...

Big changes in store for him...we just aren't sure what they are yet.

Anyways something we have wanted to do is take the kids on site and show them around where dad has been heading off to all these years.
It is an industrial site ( power station) and so it has been a restricted entry site to them until today....
I enjoyed my little tour as well....over 14 years ago I was part of a small team that lead educational tours around  the station.....we took school groups, uni students and interested groups of the public through...that was until 9/11 happened in which security became too tight.

I know one of the things he will miss the most is the beautiful view...shame industry sits on this beautiful part of the coast...

Both the kids loved the tour...both commented on how like a ghost town it felt as much of the workforce has finished up and the station has already begun being mothballed. They now understand how hard it is to get up and head to work each day.

Onwards and upwards onto new adventures...where ever they may take us!

Up - Being up there is becoming a constant source of fascination.

Where I work - A couple of days off this week....it wont be so quiet come next week when playgroup  is back.

An ordinary moment - ahhh to have the time to have complicated beauty regimes...

Getting Away...

Sometimes you just got to get away ...
School holidays are coming to an end...the weather is the most perfect for this time of the year....

We worked hard to get everyone free at the same time...

It's like that now we have a social and working teen.....

We didn't go very far and we only had the one night.....

But that is what memories are made of...little snippets of fun, spontaneity and each other....

There was just enough time to explore, eat yummy food {not cooked by either of us} read a good book and just plain hang out...

We certainly could have done with a few more days.....but ya gotta takle what you can and make the most of it.

Ten on Ten - April '15

Our Day....
Someone had to be up and at work for 7am this morning...{well two actually...the man of the house wasn't up for pics}

Not me...day off...so back to bed for some more book time....

Well it was wet outside....oh OK I drove the teen to work then came back and jumped into bed....

I did find someone else who was taking shelter from the weather....

I am hoping that our corn likes the rain too....

This Easter stash has been hiding in my wardrobe....apparently so people won't steal them...little does the boy understand that his mumma is the only  other in the house that would even contemplate eating them!

We did head out briefly to pick up the teen from work and pay a visit to the new Yoghurt place opened up...

I convinced the teen that her drawers needed sorting through before a much anticipated shopping trip next week....she has to do everything to music!

I thought seeing it was my day off...more book time was required...

This boy loves his cousins....and if his mumma wont take him to see them he decided to bring  them together on Skype....{they only live 15 minutes in opposite directions}
