Things I am Loving....

I wholeheartedly believe that no matter what is happening in your life, there is always something you can be thankful for..no matter how simple it is.

Today I am loving......

My Creative Space

Can't say too much.....working on a birthday gift for my niece....

 one who loved to dress up and be dramatic....

Just need a few more quiet hours to execute it's finish....

December 2 - My Creative Space {Thankful # 2}

{ Blog 25 days of being Thankful..... this as a way of staying focused on the good , happy and pleasing moments....

it's a way of acknowledging all that we take for granted, all that we sometimes overlook as we let busyness take over.}

Today I am thankful for.....

A day at home!

Two sisters that dropped in briefly to say hello and a day of Christmas crafting all by myself ( that sounds so hermit like but I need to retreat and recharge every now and again).......

I have many volunteers that help out throughout the year in my work..I like to give something small to say "thanks couldn't do it without you"

So I took some inspiration from this lovely blog and made some wonky Christmas house decorations.....

Just need to finish stitching them and add a button or two tonight.

I am thankful that I made it to the post office to mail my 

"Vintage fabrics swap" off......

I am thankful for a daughter who bravely headed off for her high school orientation ...only to claim at the end of the day that although it was a huge school with loads of kids she thought Year eight and high school was going to be "fun"

Weekend projects.

Not as much time  for creative space as last weekend....but.....I have started a little Christmas present making.

Can't reveal too much because I know it will be read about.

My Creative Space {Blogtoberfest 13}

I had help in my Creative Space this week....

Firstly I "pinched" was inspired by an idea that my "bloggy" friend Tammi created ....

I then enlisted the help of my hubby to do the power tool thing.......

I then was able to use some very cute curtains that have been in my stash for ages that  couldn't have been more perfect for the project......

an hour later .......

A perfect birthday gift for one 5year old nephew.....

For me

Last weekend I found out that I had won a blog giveaway (thanks Cassie). It arrive yesterday and in the parcel was the loveliest stack of material pieces....these will be so handy for some up and coming projects I have in mind.

And the sweetest of gifts was tucked in the parcel also.......

you see back at the start of the year I was bidding on some dolls house furniture that Cassie had up for auction as part of the Qld flood relief fundraiser...unfortunately I missed out on winning this ....so how thoughtful of her to remember and pop something in that Meg will just adore having in her dolls house.

Thanks again Cassie we both loved the parcel.

Birthday Bag

There has been a lot of birthday talk around these parts lately...and tomorrow couldn't come quick enough for the littlest guy in the house....

But rather than show you his presents, which he doesn't have yet and he soooo wishes he did.....

I will show you the gift I have made for a little girl in his class that shares his birthday...

I like to have a "go to gift" for friends throughout the year.....but as the year ticks over to a new one I need to find a new "go to gift" for this year's pressie....I am thinking little bags for all the girls parties we go to...need to think on the boys gift before we head off to the next one.

I got mail

I arrived home from work today to a parcel......one of my most favourite things ( to receive snail mail)

A couple of weeks ago I bid in a few auctions that were being held as part of the Flood Relief Fundraisers....

Well I won  these lovely luggage tags from here.

I have made some myself before but I never keep things so it is just special to have something handcrafted by  someone else....

So thanks Alison , I love them.....

Edible Gifts

I have just finished wrapping the last of the teacher gifts and some treats for my co-workers.....

We settled on some edible gifts for Meg's male teacher....

Some Hedgehog Slice and White Chocolate Rocky Road Slice..

I sewed up these cellophane bags and attached tags.....

Then put the final touch on the rest of Mr V's pressie......

My co-workers are not getting the reindeer treats they were saved for Mr V.....I am sure they will cope fine with the other chocolate fix.

My efforts to make a whole bunch of Handmade Christmas gifts has started  in earnest.

In my job I have a couple of teams of Volunteers that I really value their commitment.

So this is just one of the ideas I found to give a tiny little something to say thanks...I have a few more to make but at least I have started ...right?
