My Creative Space {Blogtoberfest 13}

I had help in my Creative Space this week....

Firstly I "pinched" was inspired by an idea that my "bloggy" friend Tammi created ....

I then enlisted the help of my hubby to do the power tool thing.......

I then was able to use some very cute curtains that have been in my stash for ages that  couldn't have been more perfect for the project......

an hour later .......

A perfect birthday gift for one 5year old nephew.....

Fun in the Sun {Blogtoberfest 12}

 

I love that my kids have been hanging out with their cousins these holidays...

which means that I get to hang out with my lovely sisters...

{oh and a equally lovely brother in law}

 

1st Bunting {Blogtoberfest 11}

The bunting swap is in motion......

My first piece of bunting arrived in the mail......

all the way from Wales......

From this lovely lady.....

She was also one of the recipients of a piece of my bunting..

Eagerly awaiting the remaining 4 pieces that should be arriving.

Spring Action {Blogtoberfest 10}

We've been spending a bit of time in the backyard these last few days getting ready for the Summer....

We haven't been the only ones busy preparing......

The bush doves are famous for finding the strangest places to build a nest...a nest that is a little messy and looks like it has been thrown together.......

She hasn't moved much and when she did we spied two eggs sitting in the nest.

As for these two Willy Wagtails........

They are becoming territorial and are only a metre away from the bush dove.....they must be driving her insane with their noisy chatter and their hyperactive behaviour....

But they too have chosen a very interesting place to  begin their new family.......

...my hanging light under the verandah!

Unlike the first mummy they are meticulously putting together a very neat and tightly woven nest . It appears to have any amount of man made fibres  entangled in it. 

We have spent today wondering where they are gathering all their supplies...

I did find them around the other side of the house near my washing line!

Just wondering how long it will take to finish so we can have some peace and quiet again...I am sure the bush dove would second that too!.

Something Cute {Blogtoberfest 9}

I wanted to show you a really cute idea that my Sister-in-Law popped in the guests "goodie bag" yesterday.....{I know, she was the guest of honor and she gave us gifts!}

 She made this really cute tiny paper pieced  apron......

and tucked in the pocket of the apron was a little parcel with a tag-

{Baby Bassett is brewing}

and a tea bag tucked inside that little envelope.

I love having such clever and creative sisters and sister in laws!

{not sure where the original idea came from sorry!}

OOOH Baby {Blogtoberfest 8}

It was my Sister- in - Laws baby shower today.....

This is her first bub and so a baby shower was the order of the day.....

Together with my sister and Mum-in-Law we gathered a few of her friends.....

and had a very enjoyable morning......

We each had cooked up a storm...and my talented sister did a fabulous job of the decorations.....

My Mum-in-law sourced the most Divine treats in her usual fashion......

I added my "mis-matched" Vintage tea cups to the party.....

and the mum-to-be even packaged up the cutest gifts  for all the guests.....

Did I mention that we had so much food?

Oh and we played some pretty funny games , which included a whole bunch of these........

It feels so long ago that I had my last baby..{well 6 1/2  years is a long time} so

it is very exciting to think that in about 4 weeks we will have a new baby in the family .....

a baby that will be in high demands for cuddles!

 

Getting Ready { Blogtoberfest 7}

We needed to prepare our garden for the hot summer ahead of us.....

so today we donned hats and tools ....

{some did a little pretend fishing!}

and we waited for the arrival of soil and mulch......

The workers were ready and willing.....well mostly....

We did wonder whether we had taken on too much at once....

but you know boys and dirt.....

The little guy pitched in and had some extra fun along the way....

After a truly back breaking day for the hardest worker in the family we have a garden that is now almost ready for all that the summer will throw at  it.

We have so much pink in our "Fairy Garden" ....we both agreed that our "big girl" what be very pleased.....

My Creative Space {Blogtoberfest 6}

I signed up for this bunting swap.......

I have completed my end of the deal and they are off into the post......

I have good word that this one has reached it's new owner already.

Just wish I had been daring enough to sign up for more because I had such fun making these.....

although I will be sad when these vintage sheets of mine come to an end.

Why? {Blogtoberfest 5}

I began blogging almost 2.5 years ago......not being very technically minded and also not at all into "social media" the suggestion to start a blog was laughable.

But becasue the suggestion came from my little sister who was living on the other side of the country and then some I gave it a fleeting thought.

How , where do I start, what would I write about, did I have time?????

I was convinced to give it ago as my sister encouraged me to share recipes and general day to day living so that she could still feel apart of our lives  and she could share in some of the gems that she remembers our  mum doing, that I now apparently was doing.......hehehehe  !!!

Well now as of this past weekend my little sister is now living  just 10kms away with her beautiful family and I can see her so much more in real that I don't have the same reason to blog......

but something happened and that is that I love to blog....I think my children love the reading the  blog, I think my hubbie even enjoys this little space (secretly)

It has become a place to record some snippets of our family life, snippets of my creative life and we all enjoy peeking back and seeing all the "stuff " that fills our days....

So even though my sister may not need to check in here all that often now I will keep tapping away and keep recording the ordinary and some times mundane goings on in this little family of ours.

Hey I have also met some neat people that have some cool things going on so that has been fun too.

Hanging out {Blogtoberfest 4}

We've been doing plenty of hanging out with each other.......

Spending time together doing some fun stuff

Enjoying the Spring weather which brings new season activities...

Disregarding bedtimes and proper food that is good for us...

Some of these things we don't get to do all that often.....

Just a short getaway but a fun one.....normal programming will resume tomorrow.

The Start Of.... {Blogtoberfest Day 1}

Wow October already....and right on time this arrived in the mail......

so took the chance with the girl to have a cuppa and flick through the pages.....

Today was also a pretty big day on the Aussie sporting calender ...even if your team wasn't playing I am sure it was on in the background at a lot of homes......

Although AFL is the favoured ball we also had a round ball date this morning.......

the little guys gave their dads a run for their money.......

we also managed to squeeze in a school friends birthday party........

some wander time and rock skimming.......

some hanging out time......

getting up close and personal with the locals........

and some sunset caching to finish off a beautiful 1st of October Spring day....
