Beach Combing and Sugar Cane

We were up and out of the house early today for breakfast...giving our hosts a quieter start to their day....we headed to the beach....

It was a chilly start but we walked and enjoyed the coastline....collecting beach glass, chasing waves and spotting dream homes on the waters edge.

We did make a stop at a place three of us have visited before in it's hey day...sadly it is not anymore...but a right a passage we have all done now.

Another thing that we have noticed is slowly becoming non existent...sugar cane fields....but we did find some  and again were able to educate our youngest .

So from the sea to the sugar....a great day following our nose and not the GPS....sometimes they are the best exploring adventures.

Rest for some..

When you are 16 years old and have some hard earned money burning a hole in the bank account.......shopping is a must.....
So today we took a little rest from sight seeing....had a lazy morning and then indulged her .

Her dad and brother did a great job at drinking coffee and keeping a smile on their faces.

The night sky was worth the hours we spent inside the shopping centre...

Markets and Memories

Gotta love a good market.....and this was a good one.....something for everyone....

I am very excited to come home with two locally designed and made dresses....

While we were in the hood, we made the little drive to my husband's grandparents home town for a little walk down memory lane...reliving his childhood memories of holidays there.

We can only dream.......

 Pineapples for dessert tonight....

Then we lunched at the coolest Diner in the mountains.....

and finished with a stroll around a quaint mountain town...with another view that was captivating....

Falling Waters

{ Buderim Forest}

Meg was in heaven today...we all felt like we had hit the jackpot today with this beautiful rainforest walk....it included waterfalls, lush greenery, birds and it was so quiet.....except for the energetic ten year old.
The best bit ....finding this gem and discovering it with our friend who had never visited here before either.
Meg has vowed to return here in the summer when it would be warm enough to swim in the falls.

On returning to our lovely friends apartment we met the local friendly natives.....

Beach Side

Someone forgot to tell this part of the country that it is supposed to be chilly.....we enjoyed the most beautiful day exploring another part of the coast line of our huge country.

That sun setting over mountains is still a fascination for us.

We all feel like this week has gone so slow.....hmmm just how we like it. x
