Walk for Miles

What to do with 6 kids and 4 big people on an overcast public holiday...go "treasure hunting" of course.
We set off for the adventure of finding 11 hidden clues that would lead to the final destination.
The distance covered some by car but most by foot would be 12km
Surprisingly from the biggest to the littlest they kept up pace till the end.
With a brief stop for lunch in the middle...
It was on to find the "treasure"
One big happy family and some very tired peoples heading home for some rest after 4 hours on the hunt
Great time had by all. Lets do it again soon!

A New Discovery

It was a fabulous day today..quite warm by the afternoon. After church we headed to a local spot that we had never been to...The Baldivis Children's Forest. We met some friends there and set out to find the "Treasure "that lay in waiting.
We met some locals along the way....

These guys didn't move an inch as we moved past them..they watched us as we watched them..

And Bingo the "treasure "was found...

Another place we have had right under our noses and never taken the time to visit.

A Day in September

We met Derek after his ride at one of our favourite places to wander...

We called in to visit my Dad in hospital and wish him well....then headed over to Cicerellos and the boat harbour for an early lunch...

Check out these jellyfish in the harbour!

A great way to begin the school holidays and soak up some Spring weather..

....then the sun came out.

After 21 days straight of rain today the sun came out for the school athletics carnival.

Great time for the camera to play up or was she just lightening speed?

What always catches us off guard when the sun makes it 's first appearance for the season is sunscreen. It is now out from the back of the cupboard and right where we can see it.

Fun For Who?

I chose a what I thought was a really simple craft today for playgroup...But as you can see the mums just must have needed to have some simple therapy ,because long after the children had finished they were still sitting threading away.

I found some great templates to use for the threading here....I just photocopied them onto card and then cut out and punched the holes in them. I am sad I didn't get a photo of some finished because they were quite colourful.

As this was our last playgroup session before the school holidays I have been looking forward to a time of refilling...both of energy and creativity. I read this article today which got me to do some thinking about all that I spend my time doing....

Spiderman to Hulk

To add to an already busy weekend, Fraser had a kindy friend's birthday party. What a buzz for him when he discovered a face painter at the party. So today the choice was the Incredible Hulk!
Even at a girl's party there was Lego to be found...
and new tricks to try on the trampoline...

What a dull day tomorrow is going to be for a wanna be superhero..because as usual Monday is "pick up the pieces from the weekend" day.

Off to The Fair

Spiderman
Ready to sing in the choir

My buddy the Incredible Hulk

Winners of the mystery jar competition
An array of goodies to purchase
A friend to share the day with
A beautiful way to end the day

Today was the school fair and my first real attempt at showing my wares in this kind of setting. I had a good friend to share the day with as well as lots of friends dropping in to say Hi. I had fun despite the miserable weather that appeared. It wasn't as scary as I thought it might be and I was pleased with the reactions that came throughout the day.
Many asked me where I find the time to indulge in such a pastime...my answer ...It is something I love to do and it creates a space in my busy life to have thinking space and "me" space...all important things to have in this world that is racing by.
That space for some in my family means running or riding a large amount of kilometres but for me the space in front of my sewing machine does it.

Busy Growing Up

I am constantly amused at how Fraser is beginning to do more and more growing up stuff all the time. Tonight he set up this little area and was busy writing and then proceeded to ask us for "our order"...I have memories of the girls doing this kind of play and now it's his turn. He has discovered the portable CD/tape player of Taylors and insisted having it in his room to listen to the music, If only he new the history of it!

One week till school holidays and I have been eying off these for a while and last night decided these holidays might be a good time to use it for some fun....I bought the April Book of Days which is the Spring Edition for here in Australia. Go and check them out for yourselves.
Tomorrow I am off to the fair so must go and prepare these new creations to go.

A Day at Kindy

It was my day on the parent help roster at Kindy today.

A number of times before we headed off to school this morning Fraser kept asking me what my name at school would be...he had me stumped for a while until I realised he meant what were the kids going to call me as opposed to what he calls me. He was excited to have me stay and I enjoyed watching from a little distance, seeing what he chose to spend his time doing and with who he liked playing with.
He wasn't that keen on me taking photos - I just smiled and continued on!

I am very sad at this news today...my shopping bill will increase significantly due to this unfortunate situation.
