A little festive hand stitching
I am finally feeling the space ...space to think about something that is not on a deadline.....
So I sat on the couch with my needle and thread, some recycled hessian and a few vintage bits......and I hand sewed....sewed just for pleasure.
Now I have a little bit of festive bunting that cheers up a blank space....actually I think it could pass for non festive hanging too...maybe it will hang out there long after the festive season is finished.

Ten on Ten - December
* The heat is coming...there was a gentle breeze but the heat was in the air early...
*Where oh where was Bozzle the Elf today...a little homesick maybe?
*Usually full to the brim with children and their parents...the first day of holidays for playgroup
* Now to turn my attention to my desk....sigh...I so am not good at tidying up....
*Half day at work.....there was a teen's dance performance to prepare for.....
*Loving that my clock now has pride of place to tick really loudly....
*I still get a thrill when I open the latch to see how many golden beauties we have for the day.....another "double yolker" yesterday.
* The excitement was building.....last minute rehearsals to showcase a year's worth of work......
* Home for a quick cuppa and a "Kiss" or three......The gem inside...."If you do not expect the unexpected you will not find it" Eraclito
*He likes to walk some days by himself...but he loves to see me pop out around the bend waiting for him
Another day in the life of us.........glad I recorded it for us....for the teen that danced so beautifully and made us proud....even made us shed a tear.....

I can do this.....get rid of stuff
On the weekend I was inspired by my youngest sister who did some furniture rearranging at her place......we have been in our home nearly 15 years and we DO have some stuff.
We are not big on moving furniture around a lot ....we get comfortable and leave it where it is...
anyways..I was inspired.....to move furniture.....oh and shame ...the dust and things that we found.....
But we have some new spaces....
The other thing I was prompted to do as a result of our weekend family gathering...where my sentimental /collector personality was discussed yet again......
I took a look at some of my stuff and made a very brave( well I thought it was) decision to clear some of my "stuff"
As I was taking out a collection of mine from the glass display cabinet I realised that my life pre-kids was actually competing with the sentimental things of my children.....my life before, I collected things that meant something...were a way of having an interest....spending the little disposable income I had.......BUT
Do I actually need these things now.....what is precious to me now.....my children and the things that remind me of them......
So needless to say I have one glass cabinet of sentiment instead of two!!! Big deal for me...
One day it will all move over and it will be my grand children's sentimental things in the cabinet...
reading this back ...maybe my family have a point......call it the "H" word or a collector of sentiments.....this little collector freed up some space today.
I would show you the rest of the reshuffle but I bet you know what happens when you start moving one thing...you end up with a bigger mess than you started with....

Cookies in a Jar...
Not a new idea...but a simple and lovely gift for those who like to bake.....I have made a whole batch up ready for my hard working volunteers that give of their time every week.
I bought 750ml jars and then followed this recipe to fil them .
I attached a Christmas gift tag with the recipe on the back...these were just a recycled Christmas card.....
Although the recipe calls for you to roll in balls to cook, I did attach a Christmas shaped cookie cutter just for fun.
So another handmade gift sorted on my list . This combined with our teachers gift....means I have achieved far more than I thought I had time for ....so much satisfaction though producing something handmade.
