A new morning

As difficult as it is...a new morning appears and it is our duty to find the beauty in that new day.........

During tears there is always beauty to be seen.....we just need to wipe away the tears long enough to see it.

Deepness

I woke to find a little of the world had changed......

I found out that a little colour had disappeared from this life.......

She was a student in my class at age 7.....

She was in our youth group 

We mentored her.....talked with her, encouraged her, prayed for her.....
even cried for her........

She became a mum...

bought her little ones full circle to the playgroup I run.......

I have her little ones under my wings as part of my pastoral role.......

Her family knew....
her friends knew.....
we all knew......

She carried the weight of the world
She saw life with heavy eyes

She tried .....

until she could do it no longer......


The sadness I feel is deep down

although my tears just won't stop falling today...

 joining those tears from all that loved her , cared for her, tried to help her.

Things I am Loving

Things I am loving this week.......

Today was the last day of the school term...

The little guy's school finished with their annual "mini fete"

School closes at 12pm and then parents are invited to spend the afternoon with the kids enjoying the fun of the fair.

Each class is responsible for running a little money making  fun stall.
I gave Fraser some money and let him spend it how he chose......great lesson in a little wise spending.....

Sizing up the game plan for........

......"sponge the teacher"

 Taking aim at.....
"dart the teacher"  sadly he got three out of three........

Luckily we moved onto more sedate ways to spend his money......

Paying for the privelage of plunging your hands into goo......

Who would have thought that was fun???

It was a lovely afternoon......Fraser had a fantastic time running around with his mates.

A little sad when the money came to an end and there was oh so much more fun to be had.... 

Who needs the very expensive "Royal agricultrual show" when you can have so much fun and support your school at the same time?

I am so loving that we are now on school holidays for two weeks....

Grandparents...

We have just had a week of grandparents visiting at playgroup.......

I really enjoy  seeing mums and dads engaging with their kids in play each week but this week was even more special....

Even though we were dealt storms,bitter cold and puddles the centre was filled with warmth as besotted grandparents came, played and interacted with "their babies".....

They rolled play dough, worked on puzzles and watched the art of painting a masterpiece, they were served cups of tea in the home corner and read books together.

Then they came and were attentive at story time  and sang during the music spot....

Together they creates a hand print vase of flowers to take home to remember their visit to playgroup.

This special week always takes a bit more effort but one I am glad we do.....

I am even more glad that now it is time for school holidays..  

Sort it - Update

 We are just a few day away from the end of September........

I am nearly there....

I have tackled 

the 2nd drawer

shoes

undies drawer

clothes basket's

jumpers

laundry cupboards

wool collection

Christmas in A Shoebox materials

cupboards under the computer

and 

the kids memory boxes

I have taken or thrown countless shoes, clothes,and other miscellaneous "things"

 

I have discovered a lot of things while doing this sort exercise.

I have discovered that I can sort others "stuff" more easily than my own!

I have discovered that anything with a connection to those I have loved or continue to love I have very little hope of sorting properly.

Hence why I couldn't do too much with the kid's memory boxes.....I do need to get a couple of more storage boxes or at least larger ones as the kids  aren't all that old and the boxes are stuffed to the brim.

I am a hopeless memory addict and it doesn't help that we have lived in this home for nearly 14 years........

I don't think I can change but I have enjoyed freeing some space in many areas of our home.....

I am going to run to the end and see if I can knock those last few jobs of the list.

As I sat with my love and ate lunch, watching the ocean.....

we couldn't help remark that we really are blessed to have such a sight right at our doorstep..

with hardly another soul around.

Things I am Loving....

This week I am loving........

 

 

 

 

 

....The sun peeking through when the rest of the day it was threatening storms

....The art of turning a paper plate into a work of art

....Getting the bargain of the year with five new outfits for $40 and I only popped out for "milk"

....Enjoying some slow days in the middle of this  week 

....Discovering something of my mum's while working on my "sort it" list and remembering the laughter it caused when we found it the first time.....how does one wear it when there is clearly no neck hole?????

.....Answer...it is a shrug and wears quite nicely.....

.... Having a car boot full  of things to take to the op shop as a result of my sorting..

 

....Finding the drawing that our 7 year old left on the fridge chalk board....all those talks about making good choices may be getting through.... 

....Having my sister call in for an impromptu cuppa tea.....

................and what's not to love about it being Friday?

My Creative Space

Haven't been here for "creative space " for a while......

but during my "go slow" day yesterday I did play around with some clay......

I was inspired to have a go after I saw them here.

Sort it - On top of the Fridge

As part of my September Sort it Challenge..
{which by the way I am lagging behind due to a busy weekend}

I tackled a couple of items off the list....

The top of my fridge....

I found...

egg cartons, 
fluorescent light bulbs - not working ones
batteries,
basket full of sunglasses,
any number of phone chargers
box of chalk
Lego pieces,
reward beads - we no longer use,
vouchers for paint balling games - out of date.
 a box of tissues
some beeswax 
two pairs of binoculars

and


my knuckle bones complete with instructions........

I don't know how long they have been there but I feel a game may be in order sometime soon....

I now have a clean fridge top  too.

Celebrating ...

We have had a weekend of Celebrating..........

Celebrating with family
Celebrating with friends
Catching up with friends we haven't seen in ages
 

I have hung out with a great bunch of kids
We were entertained by this talented guy
and were dazzled by a clever magician
We were mesmerized by the glorious weather

We were blessed in song by Heidi
and our own talented crew
Volunteers came together and pitched in tirelessly
We honored the great amongst us

 We laughed at the past and gained encouragement for the future
We are tired but full

Where has 20 years of our lives gone.....

invested in a cause we are passionate about

This weekend we celebrated

our church turned 20

and we have been there to see it all.
