The Day the Bees....

Sadly the bees that have been making a home in our backyard dwelling, have gone.....we were hoping for some honey at least.....not to be.

My husband is very sad that we had to have our bee keeper friend come and destroy the bees. They were too difficult to remove as a whole hive....they were becoming aggressive and taking over more of the garden.

My husband is very determined now to get a proper bee set up.... a hive that we can harvest the honey and manage them properly. They love our garden and keep returning. They love the gum tree blossom...and all the flowers but they choose the trickiest places to call home.

My husband feels like bee enemy no.1 and he is keen to right the wrong........

Weekend Snippets

This weekend..

{this sucker needed some trimming}

{we found a few surprises amongst the fronds}

{and discovered it actually had a beautiful flower right up high}

{a walk to clear the stay at home blues}

{cautious of where we walked}

{surveyed the horizon}

{never tire of discovering unusual creatures on the beach}

{low tide saw no water in the water holes}

{Fraser and I climbed up high to see the sights}

{and the sights we could see}

A fairly quiet weekend...preparations for the green waste collection.

Then a little explore of some coastline close by.....at the best time of the day...nearing sunset....cause then we could follow it up with an impromptu dinner of fish and chips on the beach.

Things I am Loving

 This week I am Loving.....

Playgroup started back up with the "love theme"

 There was a birthday midweek....

 I popped into a new to me gorgeous little shop.....and walked out with a new RED piece...

very fitting for Valentines day I thought.......

 The excitement on Meg's face when a long awaited Christmas present finally arrived in the mail today.....

 That despite the neglect of our large parts of our garden ...the jungle look is working in other parts...

 The chillies planted only a couple of weeks ago are bearing their fruits....

 Despite a hive of bees taking up residence in the kids disused cubby and keeping us from tackling the jungle.....there will be honey in them walls there.....hmmm sweet sweet honey...now just to get it out.....

 and my little attempt at making my guys smile today...sneaking some of these into their bag or lunchbox to discover at some point in the day.....two out of three found their's...the other had her fill of cupcakes from friends and so no need to look in her snack box!!!

On this day 30 years I received a special piece of jewelery that is still on my finger to this day...my friendship ring from my one and only....30 years people.....OMG life has never been the same since that day I was "sweet and young."

 Today this little girl....became fifteen.....

 Fifteen years,  gone in a blink of an eye.....it really was just a few years ago that she arrived into this family wasn't it.....?

 

Well I am told not!!!

Happy Birthday to our girl.....

we wish you to know what you want in life....

we wish you to know that you are loved......

We celebrated with gifts, requested Chinese takeout and chocolate cake....

 Her school friends made her princess for the day with cupcakes and balloons...

 We celebrate the young lady she is becoming....we champion her in all her dreams....
