Here's my solution to minimising that feeling you get a few days back after a
You know the flat feeling ...that strong tug of the routine and demands that leave you feeling like you have never been away?
While we were away we participated in the ancient art of postcard writing and using "snail mail"......
Each day we searched out a picture representation of the surroundings we were in......then over one of the many coffee/hot chocolate stops.... we HAND WROTE a message to the kids......because after all it was supposed to be a fun surprise for them.....
Then after purchasing the stamp....lick and stick....we had to search for a mailbox........
Now we knew that we would probably beat most, if not all of the postcards home but we would enjoy the thrill the kids would get each day they arrived.....well that was the plan....
And yes they did find it fun to collect postcards out of the letterbox for five days.....
BUT
The real bonus has been for us to have moments of reliving that days adventure...the sights, sounds and smells of being there....right when we were starting to feel a little blue.....
So there is my tip on how to make the holiday last, just that little bit longer, until get you over the post holiday blues.........
