A little festive hand stitching

I am finally feeling the space ...space to think about something that is not on a deadline.....

So I sat on the couch with my needle and thread, some recycled hessian and a few vintage bits......and I hand sewed....sewed just for pleasure.

Now I have a little bit of festive bunting that cheers up a blank space....actually I think it could pass for non festive hanging too...maybe it will hang out there long after the festive season is finished.

  1. I have always loved hand sewing. When I was a teen my grandmother dragged me (very unwillingly) to a sewing bee with her lady friends at church for a little hand sewing on a quilt. I have to say that once there I enjoyed it very well and to this day I quilt because of those sweet old lady's. But there is something about the hand sewing like you did on the bird that I have always loved and you did it so well. You must have a very steady hand. I can not sew in a straight line or even draw in a straight line for that matter lol. BUT! I love to sew all the same. xx

  5. Bron the Bunting is beautiful and I'm sure hand stitching with a cuppa is very relaxing. I'm sure you can still get little boxed Gingerbread houses...in fact Aldi had them the other day (not sure if Aldi is in Perth yet). I think it was kmart I got them but they are all relatively cheap where ever you buy them which is great in my opinion. Regards Kathy A, Brisbane, Australia
