oooh a proud mummy moment....

Couldn't contain my "proudness" so just had to share......

 

Meg had her final dance school concert tonight ....

It was a full dance card for her performing 7 routines both in Hip Hop and contemporary....

She also performed her first ever contemporary dance solo which she totally choreographed and costume designed herself......

I found myself holding my breath I was so nervous for her.....

I needn't have worried ..she received high accolades from a dancer in the profession....

SHE WON THE SOLO COMPETITION!!!!
(and took off her hip-hop class award)

She loves her dance and we couldn't have been more proud of her maturity and beauty in the way she dances...

OK sorry proud mummy moment over....this was for her to remember  and smile about....in time to come.

Homemade bread and garden produce,

Beautiful cards and gifts of appreciation from 4 year olds to big to come back to playgroup next year,

Collaborative work to solve a problem,

Parcels in the mail that herald my Christmas shopping has begun.

The gift of herbal tea from a friend for us to try today......luckily she tried first and discovered it was the foulest tasting tea any of us has ever tasted!!!  

 A productive week on the crafting front

The yarn bombing discovery at the start of the week.

and of course my REinventing time today ...tried my hand at something different again.

My Creative Space.....

Washing plates has been a big part of the creative preparations around these parts......

Washed porcelain plates for the end of the year playgroup gift.......

Each child has had fun this week painting their own design on their plate.....

Some of my favourites.....

 There has also been a couple of zippered pouches filled with some sewing supplies for gifts......

and the opportunity to help someone with their Christmas shopping.......

some super hero capes made to order.....

I am not the only one crafting in the house either....

A couple of trips to the fabric store for supplies for the hubby....

Sound absorber panels for the studio...... 

So a mixture of crafting happening on the home run to Christmas.....

Out and about with my man today.....

he was not as amused with our find as I was...

No appreciation for the humble yarn bombing..

and not just one but a whole mall full of creative endeavors...

My man being a cyclist just couldn't understand why you would do that to a bike...and did someone actually have to ride it like that!!!

Oh the sights you see when you have your eyes open and have time to wander aimlessly.

(oh we even worked out how to catch a bus too...not rocket science we discovered, just not something either of us had done for a very very long time)

Today we had a surprise wedding at church...well I knew it was happening but most of the church attenders didn't....

How cool to just get married ...without all the extra stress that comes with planning a traditional wedding....  

 

How fun to be at an event and then find you are part of a beautiful celebration?

REinventing this week

My sneak peek last week was of this jacket that I was working on......
It has actually lived out many years in the kids dress-up box and seen much fun....
  

 

 But no longer......

  

Jody helped me transform a beautiful but dowdy velvet jacket into something so lovely

and I took the opportunity of displaying my Tie Rose  too...... 

 

 Looking forward to a  cooler day to wear it......

Friday {Things I am Loving}

This Week.....

Actually i am just loving that it is Friday this week......  

The week that just been feels like it had just started...

 Lots of balls being juggled in the air...

Some have fallen other are precariously still in the air......

The juggler at times feeling a little out of control...

Not having all the skills necessary to keep up the juggling act...

But now it is Friday...a little time to sit in a peaceful place and sew....

create with my machine something from very little...

It allows me to reflect a little on the week just gone...

and 

Realise that the juggler is doing an Ok job...

Things have been completed

People have been made happy

Goals are being achieved

The family is working well....

Fridays are great for me to regroup  before the madness that is sometimes the weekend....

So here's to Fridays  and all the photos I didn't take this week of  lovely moments that really did happen.

Crafty Catch up

We are almost done for the year with playgroup......
with approx 140 kids with their mums/grandmas/dads coming through the doors each week I now start to look forward to the summer break...

I love the sessions each week
the interactions between families
the relationships I have made with some gorgeous parents....

So to round up on the final couple of weeks for the year and so I have a way of remembering some of the fun stuff we have done here is the last few craft ideas we had....

An owl to go with our "Owl Babies " story....      

A reindeer that we have revisited from a couple of years ago....

(see blogging has worked in my favor and my memory) 

 

and Christmas trees made from spray painted jigsaw pieces...

 (raided the op shops for my mass of pieces needed) 

 There are so many ideas to work with but just not enough weeks to complete them.....

there is always next year though....

 

Homemade remedy

I haven't been feeling all that well the last couple of months.....

I finally headed to the Dr's today and the possible reason is IBS

hmmm

helpful to know maybe...is their any real instant fix.....no

Now you also need to know I live with a fit guy....

he runs,rides and swims with some ease....

He offered me a remedy that he assured me would help with how I am feeling.....

Jump on your bike and go with him while he ran ......

not my idea of making me feel better at all....

but I could see he meant well and was up for the company....

Verdict... not as bad as I thought....a cure? maybe not but he may have a point that some exercise might be just what my body needs....

meanwhile I will be trying to implement some other ideas to help with how I am feeling...

Any suggestions?
